Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose : This study surveyed the characteristics of commercial record and verify system (RV system), LANTIS (Siemens, USA) and evaluated the its staff workload reduction effect.
Materials and Methods : The characteristics analysis of LANTIS introduced on Sept, 2010 was performed by studying the manual and on line help. Twenty patients with breast cancer were allocated into two groups for detecting workload reduction effect of RV system. Manual treatment were used for one group, and the LANTIS for the other.
Results : LANTIS was well equipped with useful RV functions such as clinical worksheet, eChart for radiation oncology, RTP link utility etc. The average total staff workload reduction of 27% with LANTIS was achieved and the greatest reduction occurred in dosimetry/physics and technologist staff.
Conclusion : The staff workload is decreased by LANTIS and the unsatisfactoriness revealed in this analysis will provide the ground to suggest our opinion of improving and upgrading the functions of RV system.
